# devices.magnetphysik:FH55

Driver for Hall probe FH55 from Magnet Physik.

Usage

``` python
devices.magnetphysik:FH55(
    interface,
    timeout=1000.0,
    **kwargs,
)
```

## Methods

| Name | Description |
|----|----|
| [__init__()](#__init__) | Initialize FH55. |
| [getField()](#getField) | Return magnetic field in T. |
| [getMode()](#getMode) | Return the AC/DC mode. |
| [getTemp()](#getTemp) | Return temp in degree celsius. |
| [reset()](#reset) | Reset the FH55 using the RESET command. |
| [setFilter()](#setFilter) | Set the filter on or off. |
| [setMode()](#setMode) | Set the operation mode. |
| [setRange()](#setRange) | Set the measurement range based on the current field strength. |

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### \_\_init\_\_()

Initialize FH55.

Usage

``` python
__init__(
    interface,
    timeout=1000.0,
    **kwargs,
)
```

#### Parameters

`interface: str`
The ip andress and port where the device is located. e.g. TCPIP::192.98.143.1::5025::SOCKET

`timeout: int = ``1000.0`
(Default = 1e3 ms) The timeout of the ethernet connection.

`**kwargs`
Keyword arguments passed to the VISAdevice constructor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### getField()

Return magnetic field in T.

Usage

``` python
getField()
```

units = \["mT","T"\].

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### getMode()

Return the AC/DC mode.

Usage

``` python
getMode()
```

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### getTemp()

Return temp in degree celsius.

Usage

``` python
getTemp()
```

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### reset()

Reset the FH55 using the RESET command.

Usage

``` python
reset()
```

This resets all peak (max/min) settings. RESET returns a "OK".

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### setFilter()

Set the filter on or off.

Usage

``` python
setFilter(filter_status)
```

#### Parameters

`filter_status: str`
Status of the filter, either "ON" or "OFF". Corresponds to 1=ON, 0=OFF in the device commands.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### setMode()

Set the operation mode.

Usage

``` python
setMode(mode)
```

#### Parameters

`mode: int`
The operation mode: 0 = DC mode 1 = AC mode

------------------------------------------------------------------------

### setRange()

Set the measurement range based on the current field strength.

Usage

``` python
setRange()
```

Automatically selects the appropriate range for the Hall probe based on the measured field magnitude. Range selection criteria: - Range 1: \< 30 µT - Range 2: \< 300 µT - Range 3: \< 3 mT - Range 4: \< 30 mT - Range 5: \< 300 mT - Range 6: \< 3 T

Prints an error message if the field is outside of valid ranges.
